  • Travel: Serve contracts across multiple regions in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Local travel of approximately 25% time is anticipated.

Position Overview: As an Energy Engineer you will support multiple electric and gas utility contracts, identify energy efficiency opportunities, evaluate energy savings for baseline and upgraded conditions, write reports, create energy models, and engage with commercial and industrial participants. This dynamic position requires collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders ranging from utility program representatives, end users, and Energy 350 staff.

A typical day may include:

  • Meeting with utility program participants to provide energy engineering services
  • Conducting site visits and completing energy audits of commercial buildings and/or industrial facilities
  • Creating energy models, calculating energy savings, writing technical reports, and reviewing engineering analyses
  • Coaching participants through project implementation with sound technical advice
  • Supporting development and continuous improvement of new and existing programs
  • Participating in industry collaboratives and other events or conferences
  • Working collaboratively with the entire Energy 350 team to deliver high-level customer service

Qualifications:

We are looking for an engineer with proficiency in energy efficiency in the commercial or industrial sectors.

  • 1-5 years of engineering experience in mechanical systems and energy efficiency
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to break down complex systems into tangible energy engineering analyses

Position Overview: The Energy Project Engineer is responsible for reaching out to and working with priority industrial customers to identify projects to reduce energy usage, quantify energy savings, and provide Energy Trust of Oregon incentives. Priority industrial customers include small rural irrigators, ag-processors, and other small industrial customers, as well as WMBE-owned and veteran-owned industrial customers. This job requires proactive outreach, problem solving, collaboration and interaction with customers, vendors, and the client. This is a work-from-home position that requires boots on the ground in Southern Oregon. 

A typical day may include: 

  • Administer Energy Trust’s industrial energy efficiency incentive program  
  • Outreach to priority industrial customers to increase engagement in Energy Trust offerings 
  • Engage customers in the regional industrial community; represent Energy Trust at local events 
  • Work with priority industrial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projects 
  • Connect with regional vendors and contractors to help communicate needs of customer energy projects 
  • Perform energy engineering/energy analysis on industrial systems 
  • Conduct on-site measurement & verification of energy projects 
  • Write technical reports for non-technical audiences 
  • Provide excellent customer service 

 Qualifications: 

We are looking for a technical person with a wide range of skills including excellent communication skills and the ability to actively engage the community to help industrial manufacturers participate in energy efficiency incentive programs.  

 Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience: 

  • Engineering degree and/or great experience required 
  • Experience in energy efficiency industry or manufacturing/ag/irrigation engineering 
  • Experience analyzing energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings 
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science

  • Supporting development and continuous improvement of new and existing programs and curriculum 
  • Participating in industry collaboratives and other events or conferences

 Qualifications:
