Certified Refrigeration Energy Specialist (CRES) Initiative Implementation Contractor
The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) together with the Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association (RETA) developed a new energy efficiency certification for professionals operating industrial refrigeration systems: Certified Refrigeration Energy Specialist (CRES). CRES seeks to transform industrial refrigeration operation practices by offering individual operator certification focused on safe and efficient operation of large-scale refrigeration systems.
NEEA contracted with Energy 350 to implement the program on their behalf. As a market development program, this is not incentive based, but market development based. Our role includes training, development of reference materials, collaboration with RETA, outreach to key industry players in the region such as contractors, utility program administrators, industry associations and end-users. Additionally, we provided one-on-one support to end-users to help shepherd them through the certification process, from training through assistance with implementation of required energy conservation activities and documentation.
