Justin Hovland, PE
Justin is a senior engineer who has been working in energy efficiency since 2012, and with Energy 350 since 2016. He specializes in detailed energy studies for both commercial and industrial facilities. In the commercial space he brings expertise in building whole-building energy models as well as conducting retro-commissioning (RCx) studies. In the industrial space he has become a leading subject matter expert on indoor agriculture, particularly heat recovery systems in cannabis facilities. Prior to Energy 350 he worked with the Energy Trust of Oregon’s Multifamily program.
Justin is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University.
A wide-ranging curiosity has led Justin to develop a diverse collection of hobbies, including gardening, ceramics, winemaking, baking, programming, reading (sci-fi), and strategy gaming. Lately he has been spending time with his family, going out for hikes, and introducing his toddler to the world.
